Cross Country
We are excited to start preparing for this year's Cross Country season! If you enjoy running and being a part of a team please come out and join us. All races are 1 mile long.
Students must be in grades 3-5 to participate in Cross Country.
Practice Schedule
- Practice is after school until 3:30 pm. On Tuesdays and Fridays beginning Friday, August 25.
- Students will meet outside the Gym in the Lobby
- Pick up will be outside door 11, the Kindergarten entrance/car rider line
- Please have a sign with your child’s name on it hanging in the car window for dismissal.

What is needed for practice?
- Running shoes
- Active Wear
- A water bottle
Races Information
- Parents are responsible for registration and payment for all races will be completed online.
- Please wear a team shirt or any Oak View shirt for the races.
- Parents are responsible for transportation to each race

@ Hickory Center Elementary School Thursday, September 21, 2023 (Deadline is September 16th at 11:59pm)

Behavior Expectations
- Students will be given two strikes before they are dismissed from the team (first strike=warning, second strike=dismissal).
- The coaches will be the judge of whether or not a situation is worthy of a strike.
- Students will receive a ticket at the end of practice that will be given to the parent/guardian to make sure everyone is aware of what happened.
If a student goes to Y-Care after practice, students will need to take the ticket home and have it signed by the next practice. Some situations that can warrant a strike are:
- Hitting
- Kicking
- Tripping
- Pushing
- Being disrespectful to coaches or other students
- Not staying on task/leaving designated area
- Not behaving during pickup
